Guidance on river levels
Green (1.40m and below): river open for all crews. Note that above 1.20m the river will be above the level of the landing stage, so take great care when boating to not damage the fin or hull.
Amber (over 1.40m but below 1.80m): river open for experienced crews only. Again, take care when boating. Ensure you keep a good lookout for debris in the river, and spin early, well above the weir.
Red (1.80m and above): river closed to all crews.

Rowing has taken place on the Avon west of Bradford on Avon for over 100 years. The non-navigable stretch of water used by the club is approximately one mile in length and ideal for rowing.
The river is shared with the canoeing side of the club and other casual water users, but congestion is rarely a problem, and the river is ideal for both competitive and non-competitive rowers alike.
The club is family friendly and has members from teenagers through to World Champion Octogenarians. The club welcomes new members from complete beginners through to experienced rowers and scullers. Formal learn-to-row courses are held every year to provide a grounding in rowing technique and boatcraft.
Access to the club, through a Country Park and over a C14 former packhorse bridge means we are unable to host open events, however we do host our own interclub competitions. There are many opportunities for racing locally on the River Avon in Bath. The club also regularly competes in events across the South of England and occasionally abroad.
The club organises a number of social events including a presence at Henley Royal Regatta and other activities such as coastal rowing.
Rowing squads
BOABC promotes interaction amongst all the rowing members. The membership is slightly biased towards Masters rowing with squads of Mens, Ladies, and Mixed crews forming both regular and ad-hoc crews.
Members are free to use the facilities at any time, with crews rowing both during weekdays and at weekends.
